1 year anniversary!!!
This has been an amazing year. We have grown so much in such a short time. We will be celebrating this anniversary with an all you can eat buffet to introduce new menu items and to say THANK YOU to our loyal supporters and fans.
We have updated and changed our menu 3 times through out the seasons. Our special list continues to evolve due to the increased skill level of the talented cooks we have here at Bourbon St. Bistro. They really are the back bone of our operation and we could not continue to evolve and grow as chefs if it weren't for their dedication and desire to execute beautiful & delicious food! A Big thank you to our servers for maintaining that exceptional attention to detail and really making our restaurant a destination place where dining isn't just for sustenance but for a full dining experience.
Our goal was to make a restaurant that mimics Danny Meyer's philisophy he had for Union Square Cafe which is make a comfortable place that guests will take ownership in and be proud of it as if it were their own. We have successfully achieved that and our regular clientele will attest to that! Many of our specials stem directly from their requests which offers a fun challenge for all of us. Especially with the limited supply to so many ingredients.
We are proud to be in Cagayan de Oro and look forward to the next year. We have a lot already planned from buffets, a larger selection of imported beers, and we're constantly searching for exquisite local product to add to our dishes. I am so proud of the farmers and all of their continued support. The pork is amazing, the wagyu is exquisite, and the new vegetable farmers that keep popping up with exciting veggies really makes us proud to be here in Northern Mindanao.
Tell your friends to drop in and try our new menu items and don't forget about Sunday's Buffet! April 17, 2011... P350 per person 11am-2pm for lunch and 5pm -9pm for dinner

New Harvest of Chilies from Diklum Farm
Getting great yield from these small plants that we sprouted on the balcony at the restaurant! The fertile soil of Northern Mindanao is prime real estate for vegetable propagation. We will expand 0n our selection once seeds arrive...
We just got back from the farm at Diklum and our chilis are growing very well and about 20 plants are producing kilos of chilis. We have some pretty nice seed production so we will have more plants in the ground in the next few weeks. We picked some beautiful green chili that we will pickle at the restaurant for some upcoming new pulutan specials...extra spicy to pair with extra cold beer! Our first harvest of red chilis has already been made in to chili sauce and it is more potent that previous batches and....WE LIKE IT LIKE DAT!!!

Mardi Gras Celebration!
So our Mardi Gras celebration went off like magic or should I say VooDoo! What would you expect with 50% off menu items and a close out extravaganza with UTOPIA performing live in the courtyard. We have a lot of pics to upload but no time for that now. We got an awesome write up from BusinessWeek Mindanao, Thanks Shaun! and met a whole bunch of new guests. The purpose of our promotion was to reach new guests. Everyday we meet people that haven't heard of the restaurant or have not had time to stop in. Well, they took advantage of the mardi gras and seems like they told the world because the good people still keep coming in. Like we've said from the beginining, we are not here to force anything, just make good soul food and share a bit of New Orleans with the good people of Cagayan de Oro. We will update this post with pics soon. Thanks again for all those that came out!

Bourbon St. Bistro Chili Sauce
The sauce is the perfect accompaniment to any dish. It can not be over used. It pours thick like ketchup and adds a smooth spice that warms you as eat. The flavor is pure. We brine the chilies and puree them so that you get a distinct salty, fresh chili flavor. Each batch is hand made and hand bottled. We don't call it hot sauce because hot really depends on the consumer and we are more into elevating the food rather than blowing your mouth up so you can't taste anymore.
This is quickly becoming Chef Drew's passion. Please stop by and enjoy our delicious food and amazing chili sauce. Currently we are in the process of making a hotter chili sauce but that is available on a request basis only.
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
