Bourbon St. Bistro Chili Sauce

We started making our own chili sauce when we opened just for fun. A local farmer in Libona, Bukidnon had some amazing chilis that Chef Drew really adores. Since it's inception the amount of inquiries about it being for sale became a demand rather than a question. You can purchase a 250ml bottle at the restaurant for P165. Currently we are adding a ribbon and to/from card for the holidays so it can be used as a stocking stuffer.

The sauce is the perfect accompaniment to any dish. It can not be over used. It pours thick like ketchup and adds a smooth spice that warms you as eat. The flavor is pure. We brine the chilies and puree them so that you get a distinct salty, fresh chili flavor. Each batch is hand made and hand bottled. We don't call it hot sauce because hot really depends on the consumer and we are more into elevating the food rather than blowing your mouth up so you can't taste anymore.

This is quickly becoming Chef Drew's passion. Please stop by and enjoy our delicious food and amazing chili sauce. Currently we are in the process of making a hotter chili sauce but that is available on a request basis only.

Holiday Whole Roasted Ribeye

The chef's at Bourbon St. Bistro are proud to offer whole roasted ribeye for your holiday parties and dinners. Chef Drew was able to procure some beautiful Angus beef from the U.S. and is offering it to guests in 1/2 roast and full roast portions. The roast is marinated in seasoned butter then roasted whole, cooked to your desired temperature, and served with 1L of sweet onion soy gravy. The garnish is beautifully rustic and consists of whole roasted sweet onions and garlic. It is for sale at P1100 per kilo. A half roast runs from 3-4K and a whole roast is about 7-8K. We will package it ready to go so all you have to do is bring it home and slice it. For reservations please give one days notice and call 088-856-5555.

Holiday French Macarons

Chef Nikki has been very busy making some delicious French macarons here at Bourbon St. Bistro. They are quite unique for Northern Mindanao and very technical to make. Her flavors are Strawberry, Blueberry Cheese Cake, Espresso, Chocolate, Lemon, Pistachio, and Cappuccino. She perfected her craft while at The Thompson Beverly Hills. She is constantly testing and creating some complex flavor combinations and executing them in a very humid environment. Making macarons is an art and Chef Nikki has perfected that art so that our guests in town can taste something truly amazing. They are available in gift boxes: 5pc (P170), 8pc (P265), and 24pc (P795).

Roof Garden

We have a lovely garden we started a few weeks ago. Basically the herb situation here has it's natural ebb and flow so to counter the chance that the farmers don't have any available we grow our own! Our Mojitos are made with fresh picked mint from our terrace!! Talk about fresh! We also can not get micro herbs like we did in New York and LA so Chef Drew has some micro cilantro, micro parsley and mint growing in the beautiful Mindanao Sun. Perfect weather these days and ample rain. We make our own hotsauce with some exquisite chilies grown specifically for us by the farmers at Green Farms in Libona, Bukidnon. Demand is growing and we want to be able to have a ready supply of vine ripen chilies so Chef has those growing upstairs too! The updates will keep coming as the menu evolves. Bourbon St. Bistro is here to serve Cagayan de Oro something different, something delicious, and something pure with ingredients sourced right here in Northern Mindanao.

Attention all Cagayan Artists

We have a lovely space at the restaurant that is perfect for an art showing. We are looking for artists of all types to utilize this space and help us draw in art lovers to the restaurant to help build up the art scene here in Cagayan de Oro. We can accommodate complete installations for sculptures, performance art, and stills. The courtyard is perfect if anyone needs to present any sculptures. We can transform it into a sculpture garden for the day/night/week/month, whatever suits your needs.

Please Contact Bourbon St. Bistro via email at Bourbonstbistro@gmail.com

Send pics of your work so we can get an idea of how much space you will need. Hopefully we will get some feedback soon so that we can begin weekly art showings at the restaurant.

Even "out of towners," if you have prints that you think the public needs to see, send them our way and we will hold a show for you. We are thirsty for some creativity so please spread the word to any of your friends that may be interested.

Sports Unlimited - Saturday, August 21, 2010 Episode

Bourbon St. Bistro is very lucky to have such loyal friends and partners in business. Our friends own and opperate the Dahilayan Zip Zone Adventure Park located in Bukidnon and is home of Asia's longest zipline. They were featured in the television show Sports Unlimited. Thanks Dyan Castillejo and Marc Nelson for taking time out of their busy schedule to come eat at Bourbon St. Bistro! After their long day of shooting the show and adrenaline filled day they came down to Bourbon St. Bistro for dinner. Lucky for us they had their entire crew and equipment with them so as dinner went on they began to film the restaurant and the food. We went out to say hello at the end of the meal and they were raving about all the food! They even made a portion of their show devoted to their meal at Bourbon St. Bistro! Thank you Sports Unlimited and Dahilayan Adventure Park for the support. We're just doing what we love and that's feeding hungry people and sending them home full and happy!!

CDOKAY write up by Rose Anne Quirante

Got a nice write up from a local blog CDOKAY…”City of Golden Friendship gud, Okay gyud!" and thought it fitting to post on our own blog.

"Now you can get the taste of French-American/New Orleans-Creole cuisine right here in the City of Golden Friendship! Introducing: Bourbon St. Bistro, Cagayan de Oro. It is a newly-opened restaurant that has captured the attention of many Kagay-anons hungry for a new line of food selections amid the growing number of pizzerias in the city.

Even before you enter the place, you get an ambiance of what it is like being in Rue Bourbon in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, particularly for its street sign and lamp post designs. As the entrance doors are being opened for you by the staff, you are welcomed with warm greetings and ushered to comfortable seats where you can then begin your dining experience."

The restaurant is starting to gain popularity and people are starting to appreciate our message, vision, as well as the food and drinks. It's all about locality. Building community and supporting those that support you. We have a close relationship with all our farmers and vendors. We source 95% of the menu from Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro. Our cooks respect the hard work the farmers put into growing those herbs, potatoes, carrots, and raising those beautiful pigs. With those pristine ingredients we are able to recreate the flavors of New Orleans, Chef Andrew's home town.

Menu Update August 2010

We are gearing up for Fiesta and have had an influx of new guests to Bourbon St. Bistro. We always love getting feedback from our guests so we make it a point to try and get out of the kitchen to talk to our guests. We have been quite busy updating our menu. Nikki and Andrew believe that just as the seasons change and segue from super hot to comfortable and rainy the menu should parallel what the farmers are growing and harvesting this time of year. We have made a nice slide show of our menu.
